Job Summary

Maintains the accuracy of the organization's financial records. Handles month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting, and supports audits and tax filings with clean, well-documented books.

Essential Functions

  1. Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments as part of the monthly close
  2. Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including bank, credit card, and intercompany accounts
  3. Prepare financial statements and management reports on schedule
  4. Maintain the general ledger and chart of accounts
  5. Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
  6. Process accounts payable and receivable in accordance with company policy
  7. Identify process improvements that reduce close time or strengthen internal controls

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of general ledger accounting experience
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookup functions
  • High attention to detail and the ability to meet recurring deadlines

Preferred:

  • CPA license or active CPA candidacy
  • Experience with ERP or accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage)

Education & Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred

Pay range example: $70,000–$95,000 per year (adjust to your market)
